Quick Answer
What Are the 2026 Silverado 1500 Trim Levels in Order?
The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes in nine trims from lowest to highest: Work Truck (WT), Custom, LT, RST, Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, ZR2, LTZ, and High Country. Trims fall into three groups, mainstream everyday drivers, factory-lifted off-road trims, and premium luxury trims. The LT is our most popular. Starting prices range from $36,900 for the WT to $71,800 for the ZR2.
Nine Trims. Here's How We Think About Them.
Nine trims sounds like a lot, but think of it as three different trucks built for three different buyers. The mainstream trims cover everything from fleet work to daily driving. The off-road trims come factory-lifted with real hardware, not just a badge. And the luxury trims feel genuinely premium, usually at a price that catches people off guard when they hear it.
What Chevrolet got right here is that none of these feel like a watered-down version of the one above it. The WT works hard. The ZR2 actually goes off-road. The High Country actually feels premium. They're nine distinct trucks with nine distinct personalities.
We sell a lot of Silverados at Bob Stall, and the question we hear most is "LT or RST?" followed closely by "is the ZR2 really worth the jump from Trail Boss?" Those are great questions with honest answers, and we're happy to walk you through both.
Take a look at the breakdowns below. When you're ready to see one in person, come by our La Mesa showroom, just a short drive from San Diego, and we'll help you find the right fit. No pressure, no rush. Just a straight conversation about which truck makes sense for you.

WT, Custom, LT, and RST, Explained
Work Truck (WT)
The Work Truck is built for exactly that, work. It's Chevrolet's go-to for fleet and commercial buyers, and it's intentionally no-nonsense. You get a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, Chevy Safety Assist, and the 2.7L TurboMax engine. Everything you need, nothing you don't. If you want a fully capable half-ton at the most competitive entry point, the WT delivers.
Custom
The Custom is for the buyer who wants their truck to look the part without paying for features they'll never touch. Body-color styling, LED cargo lighting, 20-inch bright silver wheels, and an EZ Lift Power Lock tailgate give it a noticeably sharper look than the WT. It still runs the 7-inch screen and 2.7L TurboMax, and it doesn't add much to the price. If how your truck looks matters to you, this is where to start.
LT
The LT is by far our most popular trim, and once customers experience it, they rarely look back. The jump from the Custom brings the full 13.4-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, keyless open and lock, push-button start, and a 120V power outlet. It also opens up the most available packages, including Z71 Off-Road. If you use your truck every day and you're not sure which trim to get, the LT is almost always the right answer.
RST
The RST shares the same tech foundation as the LT, with the 13.4-inch screen, keyless entry, and push-button start, but brings a sport-forward body-color styling theme and front recovery hooks. The real story for 2026 is the new RST Select Package: 20-inch High Gloss Black wheels, 20-inch All-Terrain tires, a spray bedliner, 4-inch Black assist steps, and all-weather floor liners, all bundled together with up to $6,350 in combined value. It's the RST the way most people would build it, well equipped and eye-catching.
Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, and ZR2, Explained
Custom Trail Boss
The Custom Trail Boss is the off-road trim that doesn't ask you to spend a fortune. You get the full Z71 Off-Road Package, a 2-inch factory lift, monotube shocks, hill descent control, and a heavy duty air filter, plus the red tow hooks and raised hood that are the signature of the Trail Boss look. If you want capable off-road performance at a price that makes sense, the Custom Trail Boss is the one.
LT Trail Boss
The LT Trail Boss is the one for buyers who don't want to choose between capability and comfort. You get everything the Custom Trail Boss brings, the 2-inch factory lift, Z71 monotube shocks, hill descent control, red tow hooks, and that raised hood, and you add the full LT feature set on top of it. That means the 13.4-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, keyless open and lock, push-button start, and 20-inch High Gloss Black wheels.
If your week includes a trail on Saturday and a commute on Monday, this is the trim that handles both without asking you to compromise on either.
ZR2
The ZR2 is in a different category from the Trail Boss trims. It's not just lifted, it's engineered. Multimatic DSSV dampers, front AND rear electronic lockers, an off-road cut front bumper with a 33.5-degree approach angle, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, and large underbody skid plates. It's the only truck in its class with both front and rear e-lockers, something other makes still can't match.
The Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel is the standard engine on the ZR2, which means you also get the best towing capability (up to 13,300 lbs) and the best fuel economy in the lineup. For 2026, the Technology Package and Multi-Flex Tailgate are now standard, making it an even stronger buy. If you're cross-shopping the ZR2 with a Raptor, it's worth knowing the ZR2 starts nearly $10,000 less.
LTZ and High Country, Explained
LTZ
The LTZ is for the buyer who has always needed a truck and always will, but wants it to feel genuinely premium inside. Leather seating, Bose Premium Sound, power folding mirrors, rear wheelhouse liners, front recovery hooks, and the full 13.4-inch screen setup. The 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 comes standard, with the 6.2L V8 and Duramax diesel both available if you want more. Traditional premium, done right. If you want classic comfort without the flashy branding, the LTZ is worth a look.
High Country
The High Country is Chevrolet's flagship, and it shows. Chrome assist steps, spray-in bedliner, chrome recovery hooks, power rear sliding window, and dual exhaust with polished tips all come standard. Inside, you've got three interior color options, including Jet Black with Nightshift Blue leather and Jet Black with Umber leather, for a level of personalization you won't find in most trucks at this price.
Available Super Cruise takes it a step further. It's Chevrolet's hands-free driving system, and one of the few that actually works while you're towing. If you spend time on long highway drives, whether that's heading up to LA or pulling a trailer to the desert, it's a feature worth exploring in person.
