A Word About Packages
The 2026 Silverado 1500 is already genuinely well-equipped at every trim. Packages are real additions, not features that should have been standard. The Z71 Off-Road Package adds hardware that meaningfully changes how the truck performs off-pavement. The RST Select Package bundles accessories that most RST buyers would have added anyway. The ZR2 Bison is in a category of its own.
Worth knowing upfront: most packages must be ordered from the factory and cannot be added after purchase. If a specific package matters to you, make sure the truck you're buying has it, or let us order one for you.
Some packages also have dependencies. The Z71 on the LTZ requires the LTZ Premium Package first. The Midnight Edition on some trims requires other packages to be ordered simultaneously. The full availability table at the bottom of this page shows exactly which packages work on which trims.
Our recommendation is always to start with the trim that fits your budget and use, then layer in the packages that add what you actually need. Not sure which combination makes sense? Call us at 619-460-1311 and we'll walk through it.
Z71 Off-Road Package
The most searched Silverado package for a reason. Z71 adds real off-road hardware, not just a badge.
What's Included
- 2-inch factory suspension lift
- Rancho monotube shock absorbers
- Hill descent control
- Heavy-duty off-road air filter
- Trailering Package with Hitch Guidance
- Z71 off-road badging
Good to Know
- Available on LT, RST, and LTZ as an add-on package
- Custom TB and LT Trail Boss have Z71 built in standard
- ZR2 is not available with Z71 , it uses Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear e-lockers, and 33-inch MT tires which go far beyond what Z71 provides
- LTZ requires LTZ Premium Package first
- Must be factory ordered, not dealer-installed
Best Trims to Pair With
- LT with Z71: best value off-road combination
- RST with Z71: sport look plus trail capability
- LTZ with Z71: premium interior, lifted and capable
Bob Stall Take
If you're choosing between the LT and LT Trail Boss, the Trail Boss already has Z71 built in plus the distinctive raised hood and red tow hooks. If you want the lift and shocks on the LT without the Trail Boss look, Z71 is the move. It's the most popular package we order and one that genuinely makes a difference when you're heading out on the mountain roads through Pine Valley, running dirt trails near Lake Morena, or pointing the truck toward Borrego Springs for the weekend. San Diego County has more driveable off-road terrain within an hour of the dealership than most people realize, and Z71 is how you access it without worrying about your suspension.
RST Select Package New 2026
New for 2026 and exclusive to the RST trim. An RST buyer would have ordered all of this separately anyway.

- 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels
- Spray-in bedliner
- Assist steps
- Content protection package
Key Details
- RST trim only , not available on any other trim
- Approximate bundled value: $6,350
- Factory ordered only, not dealer-installed

Color Pairings
- Black with Gloss Black wheels: full dark look
- Summit White: clean contrast with the black wheels
- Riptide Blue Metallic: sport color with sport spec
- Radiant Red Tintcoat: bold and purposeful
Bob Stall Take
The RST Select Package is genuinely good value. If you're shopping an RST, ask us which trucks on the lot already have it. The AT tires and Gloss Black wheels change the look of the truck significantly and the bedliner is something most buyers add anyway. Buying it bundled this way is the smarter move. The RST is already the sport-forward Silverado, and in a market like San Diego where trucks are driven year-round and seen in good light every single day, the right wheel and tire combination makes a real difference on the street. This package gets you there without having to price out accessories separately at the dealership.
Max Trailering Package
The package that unlocks the maximum towing ratings you see advertised. Required if towing capacity is a priority.
What's Included
- Optimized rear axle ratio for maximum towing
- Integrated trailer brake controller
- Heavy-duty cooling system
- Enhanced trailering wiring and equipment
- Package code: NHT
Max Towing With NHT
- 2.7L TurboMax: up to 9,500 lbs
- 5.3L EcoTec3 V8: up to 11,300 lbs
- 6.2L EcoTec3 V8: up to 13,200 lbs
- Duramax 3.0L Diesel: up to 13,300 lbs
Important Notes
- Not available on the ZR2 (off-road geometry limits towing)
- Cab, bed, drivetrain, and wheel size also affect your rating
- Your door sticker is the number that applies to your truck
- Always weigh your actual trailer before towing
San Diego Towing Note
San Diego towing is not a one-size-fits-all situation. If you're launching a boat at Mission Bay or Shelter Island on weekends, pulling a fifth-wheel up to Palomar Mountain, running equipment from a job site in El Cajon to a project in Chula Vista, or hauling a horse trailer out toward Ramona, the towing numbers are not interchangeable. The right axle ratio, the right cooling, and the right configuration for your specific trailer makes the difference between a truck that handles it and one that's working too hard. Tell us what you're pulling and we'll spec it right before you sign anything. Call us at 619-460-1311 and ask for our truck team.

Good to Know
- Custom TB and LT Trail Boss: available
- High Country: available
- Must be factory ordered
- Cannot be added after purchase
Bob Stall Take
Black on black works everywhere in San Diego, but especially here. Driving up the coast on I-5, parking at a job site in Kearny Mesa, or heading east on the 8 toward the mountains, a blacked-out Trail Boss draws attention without being garish about it. The Midnight Edition on the LT Trail Boss is one of the most requested combinations we build. Cypress Gray with the Midnight Edition is the pairing that surprises people most, the teal-green against blacked-out trim is genuinely different from anything else on the freeway and it looks even better in person than in photos.
Dark Appearance Package
The more accessible blackout option. Available on more trims than the Midnight Edition.
What's Included
- Dark exterior accents and trim elements
- Black styling badges and detail elements
- Package code: CWK
- Must be factory ordered
Available Trims
- Custom: entry-level blackout look
- RST: most popular combination with sport styling
- Custom Trail Boss: adds to already-aggressive look
- LT Trail Boss and ZR2: available
Bob Stall Take
Great choice on the RST or Custom if you want a sport-aggressive look without moving up a full trim level. In a market like San Diego where trucks are driven and parked in visible places year-round, the way your truck looks matters more than it might in other markets. Dark accents on the RST in Sterling Gray Metallic or Riptide Blue Metallic give you a coastal sport look that holds up in every light condition. On the ZR2, the Dark Appearance Package pushes an already purposeful-looking truck into something that looks like it means business before you even open the door.

Bob Stall Take
The Bison is for the buyer who genuinely needs the most capable truck Chevrolet builds and is not making excuses about it. San Diego County has some of the best accessible technical off-road terrain in the country within an hour of the dealership. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the Laguna Mountains, Corral Canyon OHV Area, and the trails coming off S2 give you everything from rock crawling to high-speed desert running. The AEV bumpers, skid plates, and differentials are not cosmetic additions, they are the hardware that lets you run that terrain without worrying about what you're going to hit or whether you can get unstuck. If this is you, call us and we'll locate or order one. These move fast and the buyers who want them know exactly what they're looking for.
