It is thirty seconds of everything we love about this place: our people, our showroom, our shop, and a San Diego kid who grew up to be a Super Bowl champion telling the world that Bob Stall Chevrolet is family. We could not have asked for a better way to kick off football season.

Meet some of our stars
Here is my favorite part. The people in that commercial are not actors. They are our people, the same faces you see when you pull onto the lot in La Mesa. Watch it again and you will spot a few of them:
- Billy Shaw, Sales Manager - if you have bought a Chevy from us, there is a good chance Billy helped make it happen. He runs our sales floor the way we like it: honest, patient, and never pushy.
- Tracy Folk, Shop Foreman - Tracy keeps our service department humming. When your Chevy is in our shop, Tracy is the reason it comes back right.
- Walt McGrath, Commercial Sales Manager - Walt takes care of the businesses that keep San Diego running, from contractors to fleets. If you have ever seen a Bob Stall work truck around town, that is Walt's world.
And that is just to name a few. There were many other familiar faces in the spot, from the showroom to the service drive, and every one of them is part of the Bob Stall family. What I love most about this commercial is that it is not really about a car. It is about the people behind you. Our dealership was started by a family, is still run by a family, and we do our best to treat every single person who walks through our doors like one of us. We have been right here in La Mesa since 1959. "San Diego's Family Dealer" is not a slogan someone came up with in a meeting. It is just who we are, and the reason we are still here more than 65 years later.
That is why this spot means so much to us. We did not hire a spokesperson. Rashid is a close friend of the Bob Stall family who has trusted us with his own vehicles for years, and when we asked him to help tell the story of what this place is about, he said yes without hesitating. Then he stood in our showroom and our shop with our team and said it in his own words. That means more to us than any ad buy ever could.
"The right vehicle at the right price"
In the commercial, Rashid is behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado EV, which felt right for a guy who is famous for being fast. But the truth is, "the right vehicle" looks different for every family, and that is really the whole point of the line. We cannot talk about this commercial without talking about Rashid and his family, because their story is what makes it land. Long before the Pro Bowls and the Super Bowl ring, Rashid was a kid in San Diego with a big dream and a family willing to drive him anywhere to chase it. Practice. Track meets. Games. If you have ever spent a Saturday in a folding chair on the sidelines, you know exactly what that kind of love looks like. We are grateful his family let us be a small part of those miles.
If you follow local high school football, you already know the name. Rashid played at Mt. Carmel High School right here in San Diego, went on to Weber State, and went undrafted in 2022. Nobody called his name. He signed with the New Orleans Saints anyway, made the roster, and by 2023 he was a first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler. In November 2025 he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks, and a few months later he was hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl LX. Not bad for a kid nobody drafted. What a week for football
As if Monday night was not enough, Rashid's Seahawks opened the NFL season on Wednesday with the NFL Kickoff game in Seattle, a rematch of Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots. Seattle came from behind to win it, 13 to 10. So in the span of a few days, San Diego got to see our team on TV, and then watched one of its own take the field as a defending champion. We could not be prouder.
