The Equinox is the kind of SUV families keep for a while, so color is worth a little thought. The 2026 palette is genuinely well balanced: three clean non-metallics, five rich metallics, and a couple of statement finishes in Radiant Red Tintcoat and Cacti Green for buyers who want to stand out a little.
New this year is Polar White Tricoat, a layered white that replaces last year's Iridescent Pearl. It's the most premium look in the lineup and, like the Tintcoat red, carries an extra-cost charge.
One thing a lot of shoppers miss: your exterior color also decides which interiors you can pair it with. Maple Sugar lives on the ACTIV, Black with Red accents is an RS exclusive, and the LT pairs Black or Artemis Gray. We've mapped it all out below so there are no surprises at order time.

Four Interior Themes
The 2026 Equinox offers four interior color themes, tied to specific trims and seat materials. Maple Sugar is exclusive to the ACTIV and Black with Red accents to the RS, while the LT carries Black or Artemis Gray.
Black or White Two-Tone Roofs
The 2026 Equinox offers two contrast roof options. Availability depends on the trim and the exterior color you choose.
Mosaic Black Roof (94T)
Available on the RS, and on the LT at extra cost. Offered on LT and RS exterior colors except Mosaic Black Metallic (GB8). Not available on the ACTIV.
Summit White Roof (09T)
Available on the ACTIV (except with Polar White Tricoat), and on the LT at extra cost (except with Summit White or the Midnight Edition). Not available on the RS.
Colors and San Diego Life
San Diego's 300-plus days of sunshine make it one of the best places in the country to own a colorful SUV - your Equinox is almost always seen in natural light, which is exactly how paint is meant to be judged. Radiant Red Tintcoat is striking in direct sun, and Reef Blue Metallic shifts beautifully on a gray morning near La Jolla or Coronado.
Lighter colors have a practical edge here too: Summit White and Polar White Tricoat stay cooler parked in a beach lot or in La Mesa during July than the darker finishes. It's a small thing, but a real one in a San Diego summer.
Cacti Green is the color that surprises people most in person - it can look almost matte in flat light and then come alive in the sun. Pair it with the Maple Sugar interior on an ACTIV and it's genuinely distinctive.
Buying with resale or a lease return in mind? Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, and Sterling Gray Metallic appeal to the widest pool of future buyers and tend to hold value best in the San Diego market.
