Last week, when Chevrolet unveiled the next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the team here was chatting all day about two notable changes: screens and engines. It’s easy to see why people are excited. Chevy is calling it the most powerful and advanced Silverado ever, and it’s expected to arrive late in 2026. What’s getting people excited about the screens?

This is the question we hear most, and honestly, it’s our favorite to answer. The images Chevrolet released showed a passenger-side screen with plenty of streaming apps, including Disney+, YouTube, Hulu, and Tubi. The 2027 Silverado also brings an infotainment and entertainment setup with more than 60 inches of available screen space across the front row, all blended into one clean, edge-to-edge layout.

Here’s what that actually means when you’re sitting in the driver’s seat:

• A class-leading 16.3″ center touchscreen – big, bright, and easy to read at a glance for navigation, media, and vehicle controls
• A 12.2″ Driver Information Center right behind the wheel, so your key info is always front and center
• A new available, class-leading 11.5″ front passenger screen – so whoever’s riding shotgun (or keeping the kids happy on a road trip) gets their own connected experience

And those all-new engines?

This is the other big one. Whether you tow, haul, or just love the feeling of real power under your right foot, the 2027 Silverado gives you four engines to choose from, headlined by two all-new sixth-generation V8s: a 5.7L and a 6.6L. Chevrolet describes this as the most capable and refined Silverado 1500 powertrain lineup yet, with improved power and torque.
