Chevy vs Ford vs GMC: An Honest Comparison From a Family Dealer

By Rebecca Coates Lapidario | June 25, 2026 Shopping a new truck or SUV and stuck on Chevy vs Ford vs GMC? We are a family-owned Chevy dealer, and we will give you a friendly, honest take so you can pick the brand that truly fits how you drive. more BLOCK 2 of 2 Chevy vs. GMC: what is actually different? Here is a fact that surprises a lot of folks. Chevrolet and GMC are both part of General Motors. They share a lot of engineering under the skin. So when you compare Chevy vs Ford vs GMC, two of those names already come from the same family. So what sets them apart? Chevy gives you the broadest lineup and the features you actually want, built on proven GM engineering, all at a great value. You will find cars, crossovers, SUVs, trucks, and electric models all under one roof. GMC offers a smaller lineup that leans on upscale styling and badge appeal, often at a higher price for a similar vehicle. In other words, with Chevy you get the goods without paying extra for the nameplate. Neither one is simply "better." They aim at different tastes and budgets. If you want choice and value, Chevy is a natural place to start. You can see the full Chevy lineup over at chevrolet.com. Here is where we will be straight with you. Because Chevy and GMC share so much GM engineering, a comparable Chevy often delivers the same capability, the same proven powertrains, and the same features you actually want, for less money. You are not giving anything up by choosing Chevy. You are simply skipping the badge markup, and our job is to put you in the right vehicle at the right price. Chevy, GMC, and Ford at a Glance What to consider Chevrolet GMC Ford Lineup breadth Widest GM range: cars, crossovers, SUVs, trucks, and EVs Trucks, SUVs, and crossovers only Broad trucks and SUVs; phased out most cars Shared engineering Built on proven GM platforms Same GM platforms as Chevy Ford's own platforms Known for Value and choice across more models Upscale styling, Denali trims Truck heritage, strong commercial lineup Standouts Silverado, Corvette, Equinox EV, Blazer EV Sierra Denali, Yukon F-150, Bronco, Mustang Price for a comparable vehicle Typically the lowest of the three A premium over the comparable Chevy Competitive, varies by segment Thinking about a GMC Denali? Compare the Silverado first Here is something we hear all the time. A customer comes in set on a GMC Sierra Denali, takes a look at the comparable Chevy Silverado, and is genuinely surprised by how much of the equipment lines up - often at a lower price. If a Denali is on your list, it is worth a few minutes to compare the right Silverado trim first. The key is matching trim to trim, because not every Silverado lines up with the Denali the same way: Silverado High Country is the closest match to the Sierra Denali. It is Chevy's top luxury trim, so this is the true apples-to-apples comparison - comparable equipment, often at a lower price. Silverado LTZ sits one rung below High Country. You get much of that Denali-level comfort and technology a step down the ladder, for noticeably less. Silverado ZR2 is a different animal. It is built for serious off-road, so its real GMC counterpart is the AT4X (or AT4), not the Denali. To be fair, a loaded Sierra Denali does carry some unique touches in materials and styling. But for most shoppers, the Silverado High Country delivers comparable luxury, technology, and capability, usually for less money. That is the badge question all over again: pay extra for the name, or get the equipment you want for less. Because standard features can shift from one model year to the next, our team will walk you through exactly how a current Silverado trim stacks up against the Denali you have in mind. Just reach out and we will lay it out side by side. Chevy vs. Ford: the friendly rivalry Chevy and Ford have gone back and forth for decades. It is one of the oldest rivalries on the road. Truck owners love to debate it at every tailgate. Our honest advice? Do not pick by the badge. Pick by how you actually drive. The right truck or SUV is the one that fits your daily life, your work, and your family. We are happy to point out where Chevy shines. The lineup is broad, the value is strong, and the available tech is genuinely useful. We will not knock the other brands or toss around claims we cannot back up. We would rather you compare them yourself and decide. How to actually decide A good decision starts with a short, honest list. Here is a simple way to sort through Chevy vs Ford vs GMC without the stress. Write a must-have list. Think towing, seating, cargo, and the tech you really use. Test drive across brands. Numbers on paper feel different from the driver seat. Compare total cost, not just the sticker. Think payment, fuel, and upkeep over time. Read the warranty coverage closely so there are no surprises later. Want help with the math? We will sit down and run real numbers with you. No pressure, just clear answers. When you are ready, you can browse our new inventory and we will help from there. Why shop Chevy at Bob Stall We have been family-owned in La Mesa since 1959. Chevy Lease Deals Near San Diego: How Our Monthly Specials Work

By Rebecca Coates Lapidario | June 24, 2026 Looking for Chevy lease deals near San Diego? You found the right spot. At Bob Stall Chevrolet, family-owned in La Mesa since 1959, we update our lease specials every month so you know exactly what is available before you ever step foot on the lot. No surprises, no guessing. Below, we will walk you through how a Chevrolet lease actually works, what is on sale right now, and the simple steps to lock in the lowest payment you qualify for. more ===== BLOCK 2 of 2 (the rest of the post, shown after "Read more") ===== Paste into a SECOND code block's HTML tab, AFTER the native More block. No images required. All offer figures match the live specials page; if an offer changes, update /4th-of-july-specials and /new-specials, not this post. What Chevy lease deals are available right now? Recent examples have included: Current Chevy Lease Specials Near San Diego (24-Month, Plus Tax) Model Lease from Good for Chevrolet Trailblazer $196/mo A right-sized SUV for city driving and commutes Chevrolet Trax $199/mo One of the best values in a new SUV Chevrolet Colorado $269/mo A capable mid-size truck Chevrolet Silverado 1500 $299/mo Full-size truck; also 0% APR offers for qualified buyers Chevrolet Blazer EV $299/mo If you are ready to go electric Payments, terms, and availability change each month, so the best move is to see our current specials page for full details and disclaimers. While our Independence Day Sales Event is running, those offers are good through 7/7/26. How does a Chevrolet lease work? When you lease, you are paying for the part of the vehicle you actually use during the term, not the full price. That is why a lease payment is usually lower than a finance payment on the same vehicle. You drive a new Chevrolet for a set term (most of ours are 24 months), stay within an agreed yearly mileage allowance, and at the end you simply return it, buy it, or lease something new. It is a great fit if you like driving a newer vehicle every couple of years and prefer a lower monthly payment. How do I get the lowest lease payment? The advertised price is a starting point. Most shoppers can lower it further with rebates they may already qualify for: Lease loyalty - for current GM lessees Conquest cash - if you currently drive a competing, non-GM vehicle Military appreciation - $500 GM Military Cash for eligible active-duty, reserve, and veterans GM Reward Card sign-up bonus, plus any current GM College or first-responder programs Not all customers qualify for every rebate, and that is exactly the kind of thing we sort out for you up front, so the number you see is the number you sign. You can also browse the full Chevrolet lineup first, then ask us what is leasable and on offer. Why lease from Bob Stall Chevrolet? We have been family-owned in La Mesa since 1959, serving San Diego, Santee, El Cajon, and Chula Vista. That means no pressure and no games - just a straight answer on what you qualify for and what it will cost. If a lease is not the right call for how you drive, we will tell you that too. What Has Us Excited About the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500? New Screens & Engines

By Rebecca Coates Lapidario | June 23, 2026 Last week, when Chevrolet unveiled the next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the team here was chatting all day about two notable changes: screens and engines. It's easy to see why people are excited. Chevy is calling it the most powerful and advanced Silverado ever, and it's expected to arrive late in 2026. So here's what's getting our customers fired up, and what we can't wait to show you in person. more ===== BLOCK 2 of 2 (the rest of the post, shown after "Read more") ===== Paste this into a SECOND code block's HTML tab, AFTER the native More block. IMAGES: both wired in as full-domain CDN URLs - screens (2027_Silverado_Screens.webp) and the ZR2 driving shot. Swap the second one later if you get a real V8 engine photo. What's getting people excited about the screens? This is the question we hear most, and honestly, it's our favorite to answer. The images Chevrolet released showed a passenger-side screen with plenty of streaming apps, including Disney+, YouTube, Hulu, and Tubi. The 2027 Silverado also brings an infotainment and entertainment setup with more than 60 inches of available screen space across the front row, all blended into one clean, edge-to-edge layout. Here's what that actually means when you're sitting in the driver's seat: A class-leading 16.3" center touchscreen - big, bright, and easy to read at a glance for navigation, media, and vehicle controls A 12.2" Driver Information Center right behind the wheel, so your key info is always front and center A new available, class-leading 11.5" front passenger screen - so whoever's riding shotgun (or keeping the kids happy on a road trip) gets their own connected experience Over 60" of available combined screens. Passenger screen not visible to the driver. The piece that really lands with our towing customers is Super Cruise with Trailering - the only hands-free driver-assistance technology on the road that works while you're towing, now available across more of the Silverado lineup than ever. Add in a new available Multi-Flex Center Console that folds flat into a sturdy workspace (think mobile office on a job site), plus OnStar Basics standard for eight years, and you start to see why folks are excited. As our team likes to say, the tech in this truck really aligns with the functionality and design our customers are looking for. And those all-new engines? This is the other big one. Whether you tow, haul, or just love the feeling of real power under your right foot, the 2027 Silverado gives you four engines to choose from, headlined by two all-new sixth-generation V8s: a 5.7L and a 6.6L. Chevrolet describes this as the most capable and refined Silverado 1500 powertrain lineup yet, with improved power and torque. All-new 5.7L V8 - next-generation, American-assembled All-new 6.6L V8 - next-generation, American-assembled Upgraded TurboMax - for drivers who want efficiency without giving up muscle Class-exclusive Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel - the towing-and-torque favorite The next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500 ZR2. Preproduction model shown. Not sure which engine fits how you actually drive? That's exactly the conversation we love having. Chevrolet built its first V8 back in 1955, so these new engines carry 70 years of know-how, and we're happy to walk you through which one makes sense for your towing, hauling, and daily needs. Which trim is right for you? The 2027 Silverado 1500 will come in seven models, so there's a fit for every kind of driver: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, High Country, and ZR2. If the outdoors is calling, the off-road ZR2 and Trail Boss get a 2" factory lift, with ZR2-exclusive 35" mud-terrain tires. Want a little luxury? A panoramic sunroof is standard on High Country and available on ZR2, Trail Boss, and Silverado. When the time comes, our team will help you match the right trim to your budget and how you'll really use the truck, with no pressure, just straight answers. When can you get one, and how can we help right now? The next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500 is expected to arrive late in 2026, with pricing and ordering details coming from Chevrolet later this year. We'll keep this page updated as we learn more. If you'd like to be among the first to know when it lands at Bob Stall, reach out and we'll add you to the list, with no obligation. We'll just keep you posted. Don't want to wait? NASCAR Comes to San Diego: Our Team at the Anduril 250

By Rebecca Coates Lapidario | June 22, 2026 This weekend, the roar of stock cars echoed across San Diego Bay - and for the first time ever, NASCAR's top series raced right here in our backyard. The inaugural Anduril 250 took over a 3.4-mile temporary street course at Naval Base Coronado, and a few of us from the Bob Stall Chevrolet family were lucky enough to be there to soak it all in. more ===== BLOCK 2 of 2 (everything after the "Read More" cut) ===== HTML tab: paste everything below. CSS tab: paste the SAME full CSS file again (nascar-anduril-250-CSS-for-both-blocks.css). JS tab: leave empty. Fully self-contained (all divs open AND close here). A historic first on the San Diego Street Course NASCAR has run street races before, but never in San Diego. The custom 3.4-mile, 19-turn circuit on Naval Base Coronado made for one of the most unique backdrops in the sport - ocean, skyline, and Navy ships in the distance. Even better, the race carried real meaning: it was held in honor of the U.S. Navy's 250th birthday, in the same year the country marks its own 250th. For a Navy town like San Diego, it doesn't get much more fitting than that. How the race played out In a dramatic finish, Corey Heim chased down Tyler Reddick in the closing laps to score his first career NASCAR Cup Series win - and the first-ever Cup victory on the new San Diego street course. Bubba Wallace came home second. Chevrolet ran strong all afternoon. Kyle Larson put his Hendrick Motorsports Chevy on the podium in third, leading 11 laps late in the race, and A.J. Allmendinger brought another Chevrolet home in fifth - a great showing for Bowtie fans all around. A day to remember for our team Beyond the racing, it was just a fantastic day out. Several members of our team made it to the track, and a few brought their families along to share the experience. Watching a NASCAR Cup race unfold a few miles from the dealership - with the Navy being honored the whole weekend - is the kind of San Diego moment we won't forget anytime soon. From a Navy family's perspective For some of us, Naval Base Coronado is far more than a racetrack. It's the ground where our family has said goodbye before a deployment, where we've squeezed in a quick meal together on a long day, and where we've spent easy afternoons at the beach. Seeing that same place transformed into a NASCAR street course - with the Navy's 250th birthday honored all weekend long - hit differently. My son got to make brand-new memories there alongside the Chevy team, the kind that can never be replaced. That's what made this weekend so special. Race day with family at Naval Base Coronado Come talk racing - and Chevys - with us If this weekend got you fired up about horsepower, you're in good company. Whether you want something spirited for the daily drive or a truck that works as hard as a pit crew, the Bowtie lineup has something for you. 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 next-generation pickup truck revealed by Chevrolet

The Next-Generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Is Here

By Rebecca Coates Lapidario | June 16, 2026 The next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has officially been revealed. Chevrolet is calling it the most powerful and advanced Silverado ever. For the second best-selling vehicle in America, this is a genuinely big moment. The truck is all-new from grille to tailgate. It brings two brand-new V8 engines, a simplified lineup, and a fully digital interior. Here at Bob Stall Chevrolet in La Mesa, we want to be your straight-shooting source on what is confirmed. Here is everything Chevrolet shared at the reveal. more ===== BLOCK 2 of 2 (everything after the "Read More" cut) ===== HTML tab: paste everything below. CSS tab: paste the SAME full CSS file again (2027-silverado-reveal-CSS-for-both-blocks.css). JS tab: leave empty. This block is fully self-contained (all divs open AND close here). Two All-New V8 Engines The headline is under the hood. The 2027 Silverado 1500 introduces two next-generation V8s, a 5.7L and a 6.6L. They step in for the outgoing 5.3L and 6.2L. Chevrolet says the lineup includes the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class. That builds on more than 70 years of V8 experience and over 100 million engines produced. Those two V8s join an enhanced 2.7L TurboMax. It now pairs with a 10-speed transmission and delivers what Chevrolet calls best-in-class standard torque. Rounding out the lineup is the proven, segment-exclusive Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel. That is four distinct powertrains, which keeps the Silverado one of the most flexible trucks in the segment. Chevrolet says the redesign delivers "the most capable, refined and advanced Silverado lineup" the brand has ever offered. Scott Bell, Vice President of Global Chevrolet Straight Talk On Horsepower You will see a lot of horsepower and torque numbers floating around online already. Be careful with them. Chevrolet has not released official output figures yet. Anything you see right now is an unofficial estimate. We will publish the real numbers the moment Chevrolet makes them official, and not a minute before. A Bolder, All-New Design The 2027 Silverado looks new everywhere. Chevrolet gave it a more planted, commanding stance and more monochromatic, premium styling. New lighting signatures front and rear include signature LED headlamps with a walk-up animation and full LED taillamps. A cleaner, flush sliding rear window and a new rear spoiler sharpen the look and improve aerodynamics. Dual exhaust is now standard on Custom and above. ZR2 Bison Edition in Apex Red Seven Trims, Easier To Shop Chevrolet simplified the lineup to seven trims and made it clearer where each one fits. The trim formerly known as LT is now simply Silverado. The RST, LTZ, and LT Trail Boss names are gone. The new walk runs from value to flagship: Work Truck – fleet-focused, built around uptime and durability. Custom – strong value, now with dual exhaust and 20-inch wheels. Custom Trail Boss – an attainable lifted truck with a 2-inch lift and 34-inch tires. Trail Boss – real off-road presence, 34-inch MT tires, two new interior themes. Silverado – the heart-of-the-market trim, Z71 standard on 4WD. ZR2 & ZR2 Bison – the most off-road-capable ZR2 ever, 35-inch tires, e-lockers, Multimatic DSSV dampers, forged carbon trim. High Country – the flagship, with 22-inch wheels and a Silverado-first panoramic sunroof. Notably, three of the seven trims (ZR2, Trail Boss, and Custom Trail Boss) are factory-lifted off-road models. That nearly doubles the lifted options Chevrolet offered before. A Modern, Connected Interior Inside, every 2027 Silverado gets a digital cockpit anchored by a standard 16.3-inch center display and 12.2-inch driver display. Chevrolet smartly kept real physical buttons and knobs for the controls people use every day. ZR2 and High Country add an available 11.5-inch front passenger screen, a head-up display, and a rear camera mirror. That is over 60 inches of digital displays. There is also a reconfigurable Multi-Flex center console with nearly 25 liters of storage and a deployable armrest that becomes a workspace. You also get available dual wireless phone charging. And Super Cruise hands-free driving now works while towing, a class exclusive. Multi-Flex console with deployable workspace What We Do Not Know Yet In the interest of being your accurate source, here is what Chevrolet has not released. The missing pieces: pricing and MSRP, horsepower and torque, towing and payload ratings, and fuel economy. Chevrolet has said the full capability story and pricing will come later in 2026. That is closer to the truck going on sale. When those numbers are official, you will find them on our 2027 Silverado page. When Can You Get One Near San Diego? 2026 Traverse San Diego, CA

2026 Chevrolet Traverse: Four Personalities, One Very Capable SUV

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse doesn’t try to be everything at once. Instead, it offers four distinct interpretations of the same idea. A spacious, modern three-row SUV that adapts depending on how you plan to use it. From practical family transport to something more rugged or more refined, the lineup has what you may need. The Starting Point That Already Feels Complete The LT trim sets the tone. Power comes from a Turbocharged 2.5L engine delivering 328 hp and 326 lbs. ft. of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It’s a confident, well-judged setup for a vehicle of this size. Inside, the 17.7-inch touchscreen brings a modern feel without overcomplicating things. Practicality is where the LT really shines. Seating for up to 8 and up to 98 cu. ft. of cargo space make it usable for families who need room that works every day. more Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it’s comprehensive. More than 20 features operate quietly in the background, adding reassurance without demanding attention. When the Road Stops, This One Keeps Going The Z71 shifts the Traverse into a different mindset entirely. Here, capability takes priority. An Advanced Twin-Clutch AWD system, Terrain Mode, and Hill Descent Control give the Z71 another level of confidence off pavement. The suspension is an off-road suspension, which smooth out uneven terrain in a way that feels controlled rather than harsh. Add in skid plates and all-terrain tires, and the Z71 becomes a genuine option for drivers who regularly venture beyond the road. A Noticeable Step Toward Refinement The High Country adds more touches of luxury. It’s still practical, but the focus shifts to ease and comfort. One-touch folding second-row seats and power-folding rear rows make the cabin flexible in seconds, which matters more than you’d expect when you’re loading gear or reorganizing space on the fly. Super Cruise comes into play here as well, offering hands-free driving on a vast network of compatible roads. It’s one of those features that quietly changes long drives, reducing fatigue without removing control. Visually, the High Country leans into subtle distinction with 22-inch wheels. The Same Capability, With a Sharper Edge The RS takes much of what the High Country offers and presents it differently. The hardware remains, including Super Cruise and the flexible seating system, but the aesthetic shifts. Blacked-out exterior elements and a more assertive grille, give it a noticeably more athletic stance. Inside, the flat-bottom steering wheel and red accents reinforce that identity. It’s still a family SUV, but one that leans into a more expressive character. Finding the Right Fit in La Mesa Choosing between the LT, Z71, High Country, and RS isn’t about picking the “best” version. It’s about choosing the one that aligns with how you use your vehicle. For drivers in La Mesa, CA, that might mean prioritizing passenger space, weekend capability, long-distance comfort, or standout design. The Traverse accommodates all of those without forcing compromise where it matters most. Explore the Traverse Lineup in Person A great way to understand the differences is to see them side by side.
