What Has Us Excited About the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500? New Screens & Engines

Last week, when Chevrolet unveiled the next-generation 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the team here was chatting all day about two notable changes: screens and engines. It's easy to see why people are excited. Chevy is calling it the most powerful and advanced Silverado ever, and it's expected to arrive late in 2026. So here's what's getting our customers fired up, and what we can't wait to show you in person.

What's getting people excited about the screens?

This is the question we hear most, and honestly, it's our favorite to answer. The images Chevrolet released showed a passenger-side screen with plenty of streaming apps, including Disney+, YouTube, Hulu, and Tubi. The 2027 Silverado also brings an infotainment and entertainment setup with more than 60 inches of available screen space across the front row, all blended into one clean, edge-to-edge layout.

Here's what that actually means when you're sitting in the driver's seat:

  • A class-leading 16.3" center touchscreen - big, bright, and easy to read at a glance for navigation, media, and vehicle controls
  • A 12.2" Driver Information Center right behind the wheel, so your key info is always front and center
  • A new available, class-leading 11.5" front passenger screen - so whoever's riding shotgun (or keeping the kids happy on a road trip) gets their own connected experience

The piece that really lands with our towing customers is Super Cruise with Trailering - the only hands-free driver-assistance technology on the road that works while you're towing, now available across more of the Silverado lineup than ever. Add in a new available Multi-Flex Center Console that folds flat into a sturdy workspace (think mobile office on a job site), plus OnStar Basics standard for eight years, and you start to see why folks are excited. As our team likes to say, the tech in this truck really aligns with the functionality and design our customers are looking for.

And those all-new engines?

This is the other big one. Whether you tow, haul, or just love the feeling of real power under your right foot, the 2027 Silverado gives you four engines to choose from, headlined by two all-new sixth-generation V8s: a 5.7L and a 6.6L. Chevrolet describes this as the most capable and refined Silverado 1500 powertrain lineup yet, with improved power and torque.

  • All-new 5.7L V8 - next-generation, American-assembled
  • All-new 6.6L V8 - next-generation, American-assembled
  • Upgraded TurboMax - for drivers who want efficiency without giving up muscle
  • Class-exclusive Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel - the towing-and-torque favorite

Not sure which engine fits how you actually drive? That's exactly the conversation we love having. Chevrolet built its first V8 back in 1955, so these new engines carry 70 years of know-how, and we're happy to walk you through which one makes sense for your towing, hauling, and daily needs.

Which trim is right for you?

The 2027 Silverado 1500 will come in seven models, so there's a fit for every kind of driver: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, High Country, and ZR2. If the outdoors is calling, the off-road ZR2 and Trail Boss get a 2" factory lift, with ZR2-exclusive 35" mud-terrain tires. Want a little luxury? A panoramic sunroof is standard on High Country and available on ZR2, Trail Boss, and Silverado. When the time comes, our team will help you match the right trim to your budget and how you'll really use the truck, with no pressure, just straight answers.

When can you get one, and how can we help right now?

The next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500 is expected to arrive late in 2026, with pricing and ordering details coming from Chevrolet later this year. We'll keep this page updated as we learn more. If you'd like to be among the first to know when it lands at Bob Stall, reach out and we'll add you to the list, with no obligation. We'll just keep you posted.

Chevy Tahoe vs Suburban: Which Full-Size SUV Is Right for You?

By Rebecca Coates Lapidario | July 7, 2026 Trying to decide on a Chevy Tahoe vs Suburban? You are not alone. Both are full-size Chevy SUVs with room for the whole family, and they share a lot. The main difference is size. Here is a simple, no-pressure look to help you pick the right one. more BLOCK 2 of 2 Tahoe vs. Suburban: the short answer When folks ask us about the Chevy Tahoe vs Suburban, here is the quick version. Both are full-size SUVs, and both are assembled in Arlington, Texas. They look alike and feel alike to drive. The Suburban is the longer one. That extra length means more cargo room behind the third row. The Tahoe is a bit shorter, so it can be a little easier to park and maneuver. If you want maximum space, lean Suburban. If you want full-size capability that fits your garage and daily errands a touch better, lean Tahoe. Both are great choices. Chevy Tahoe vs. Suburban at a Glance Feature Tahoe Suburban Type Full-size SUV Full-size SUV (longer) Seating Up to 8-9 Up to 8-9 Cargo behind 3rd row Generous More, since it is longer Towing Strong Strong Best for Full-size capability that is a bit easier to park Maximum passenger and cargo space Space and seating Both SUVs seat the same number of people. Each one can seat up to 8 or 9, depending on how you configure the seats. So for passengers, it is close to a tie. Need a bench seat in the middle row? You can get up to nine seats. Prefer captain's chairs? You can have those too. The difference shows up behind the third row. Because the Suburban is longer, it gives you more cargo room back there. That is handy when the seats are full and you still need space for luggage, sports gear, or groceries. The Tahoe still offers generous cargo space for most families. It is simply a bit shorter overall. Tahoe: full-size room with a slightly smaller footprint. Suburban: the most cargo space behind the third row. Both: seating for up to 8 or 9, your choice of layout. Want to see how the Tahoe is set up this year? Take a look at our 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe page for the details.
